mission

Mission

Music. Art. Giving. Stoke

Do It Ourselves Presents is a mission-driven music festival and media production company, creating intimate experiences with music, art, and community that serve a greater good. Since our humble beginning along the central coast of California in 2013, DIO has fostered originality and soul in the name of giving back. We design each event as an experience that elevates expression, celebrates the power of collaboration and community, and brings people together with a good cause in mind.  Drawing from our homegrown network of talent and beyond, we curate a cast of artists, musicians, and do-ers to inspire a “Do It Ourselves” credo. Our annual festival (DIO Fest), local showcases, and media spotlights all emphasize the power of art and music to benefit the disabled and disenfranchised alike.

We want to help, so we’re doing it ourselves…

giving back

A core part of the Do It Ourselves mission is to benefit worthy causes and organizations. Each year, we donate a large portion of proceeds from the festival to Camp Krem, a special needs summer camp in Boulder Creek, CA that hosts DIO Fest each year. With our support, Camp Krem successfully launched a music enrichment program for the benefit of their campers.

In addition to our annual donation, we plan to organize artist showcases and concerts for the 2019 Summer Session Campers at Camp Krem. DIO will also be sponsoring work days onsite, to maintain upkeep of the property and continuously express our gratitude for the space and community.

history

Do It Ourselves Presents started in 2013 as a grassroots art and music festival (DIO Fest) in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Now that we’re entering our 7th year, our production is filling a year round event calendar, releasing collaborative art and media projects, while booking premier regional and national acts to perform at our annual event and sporadic showcases along the central coast of California.

Consider us just a group of like-minded artists, do'ers, and givers, alongside an amazing community of folks who build upon the Do It Ourselves ethos each and every day.

We're always looking for new friends too, so come kick it sometime!

venues and artists

We are extremely grateful to have our efforts focused at the beautiful Camp Krem in the Santa Cruz Mountains, The Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur, and The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz. With each Do It Ourselves Presents event, you can trust the lineup of artists, musicians, as well as the attendees, will be earnest and original souls. We’ll bet you a high-five on it.
